SoCal native, Peter Walsh is a versatile cellist that loves to share music with others through collaboration, performance, and teaching.
Peter has participated in music festivals such as Bowdoin International Music Festival in Brunswick, Maine, and Festival del Lago in Ajijic, Mexico. He has studied with cellists Richard Aaron, Antonio Lysy, Ben Hong, Amos Yang, David Ying, Erika Duke-Kirkpatrick, and Alex Bozman. In Los Angeles, Peter has performed with IranShar Orchestra, West Side Chamber Orchestra, and the Hear Now Festival. Other highlights include performing at SuperBowl LX with Green Day, Walt Disney Concert Hall with American Youth Symphony, at the Blue Painted Lady in San Francisco with Mosaic Strings.
Dedicated to teaching, Peter has studied pedagogy with Richard Aaron, Nancy Hair, Johanna Gamboa-Kroesen, Shu-Yi Scott, Trina Carey, and Andrew Luchansky. Peter believes that anybody can learn to play the cello and maintains a private cello studio in Santa Clarita, California.
Peter holds a Master of Music in Cello Performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music.
